Your workout data
As Written stores workout history, in-progress workouts, program choices and preferences on your iPhone. Optional bodyweight and sex settings are used for calculations. The app does not send this data to the developer and contains no advertising or custom usage analytics.
Apple Health
On supported devices running iOS 26 or later, you can choose to connect Apple Health. With permission, As Written records strength-training workouts, active energy and heart rate, and reads heart rate and active energy to show workout information. Workout logging works without Health access. Manage permissions and existing records in Apple Health.
Lock Screen
Live Activities can display workout details and heart rate on the Lock Screen and Dynamic Island. Manage their visibility in iPhone settings.
Sharing and backups
Exporting a complete backup shares a copy with the destination you choose. This free edition does not create or restore app-managed iCloud backups. Opening or cancelling the share sheet does not itself create a durable backup. Apple may separately include app data in an iPhone device backup according to your device and iCloud settings. Health data may sync through Apple according to your settings.
Deleting data
Deleting the app rather than offloading it removes its local app data. Start over keeps workout history. Delete training data in Settings removes training history, an unfinished workout, preferences and local recovery copies from this iPhone. It does not delete exported files, Apple Health records, iPhone device backups or cloud copies created by an earlier build. Manage each at its destination.
Purchases
This free edition has no in-app purchases or subscriptions and does not look up StoreKit entitlements.
Local diagnostics
As Written keeps up to 200 recent technical events for seven days on the device, including screen visits, operation timings and fixed error categories. They contain no workout contents, Health readings, account identifiers or raw error messages. This report is never automatically forwarded. You can inspect, share or clear it in Settings. Fixed technical event names are also written to Apple’s device logging system.
Remote error reporting
Remote error reporting is disabled in this free edition. If an earlier build submitted limited technical reports, installing this edition does not delete reports already received. Existing recovery receipts and support-assisted access or deletion requests remain available when a receipt exists on the installation.

This policy will be updated when the app’s data practices change. Contact the support address with privacy questions.
